Job Opportunity: APARDO Executive Director



The Asia Pacific Alliance of Rare Disease Organisations (APARDO) is a not-for-profit organization that provides a patient advocacy-led alliance of rare disease stakeholders from Asia Pacific region. Working with rare disease organisations and communities, our mission is to work with and bring together stakeholders collaboratively to advocate for better outcomes and quality of life for patients and their care-givers.



📍 Location: Singapore



RESPONSIBILITIES:

🎯 Strategic Leadership

a. Develop and implement strategic plans to increase the organization’s impact across the Asia Pacific region.

b. Foster strong relationships with member organizations, stakeholders, and partners to advance the mission of the Alliance.



📝 Program Development and Management

a. Oversee the development and execution of programs and initiatives that support individuals with rare diseases and their families.

b. Ensure program alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives.



📢 Advocacy and Public Relations

a. Act as the primary spokesperson for the Alliance, advocating for rare disease policies and raising public awareness.

b. Represent the organization at regional and international forums, conferences, and meetings.



💰 Fundraising and Resource Mobilization

a. Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support the organization’s activities.

b. Collaborate with the General Manager to manage budgets and ensure financial sustainability.



📋 Governance and Organizational Management

a. Work closely with the Board of Directors to set organizational policies and priorities.

b. Provide regular updates and reports to the Board on organizational progress and challenges.



🤝 Network Building

a. Strengthen and expand the Alliance’s network by engaging existing and potential member organizations.

b. Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among members.



QUALIFICATIONS:

✅ Proven leadership experience in the non-profit, health, or related sector.

✅ Strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with rare diseases and their families.

✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

✅ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.

✅ Experience in strategic planning, program development, and fundraising.

✅ Familiarity with cultural and socio-economic diversity of the Asia Pacific region.

✅ Advanced degree in public health, non-profit management, or a related field is preferred.



REMUNERATION:

Salary will be commensurate with experience and industry standards.
